Able Seaman Christopher Watson Borthwick, Royal Naval Patrol Service. He died on 7th May 1940 aged 29 aboard H.M. Steam Trawler “Michael Griffiths”. He was the son of Alexander and Mary Watson of Eyemouth and is buried in Southport ( Duke Street ) Cemetery. The “Michael Griffiths” was a steam trawler which was requisitioned in 1939 by the Admiralty and was employed in minesweeping.
