Private William Lough

Lance Corporal William Lough, 1/4th ( Border ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died of wounds in Palestine on 2nd December 1917, aged 21. He was the son of John and Jane Ritchie Lough of Chapel Terrace, Eyemouth and is buried in Kantara War Cemetery, Kantara, Egypt. He was wounded in the same attack at El Mughar on 13th November in which Lieutenants Robertson, Wood and Corporal Craig were killed. Before enlisting he had been employed as vanman with fishcurer Mr William Robertson of Eyemouth.
