Driver Robert McLaren Kerr, Royal Army Service Corps att. from the Royal Army Medical Corps. He was killed in France on 26th June 1944,aged 39, during the fighting in Normandy after the D-Day Landings. He is buried in La Deliverande War Cemetery, Normandy, France. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Kerr and had been born in 1905 at Kelloe Mains near Edrom and before the War he had been employed by the Earl of Home at the Hirsel, Coldstream. His name was only recently added to the Edrom War Memorial. He is also commemorated on the Coldstream War Memorial. The photos show Scottish troops in Normandy.
