Private John Dickson, ( possibly ) 7th 9 Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in France on 29th April 1916 and is buried in Vermelles British Cemetery, France. He was originally from Shotts in Lanarkshire. At that time the Battalion were in trenches in the Loos sector near Mazingarbe where the occasional shell and sniping were always dangers.
