Private William Renton

Private W. Renton, 3rd ( Reserve ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died at Home on 13th October 1917, aged 26. He had been born in Edrom and was the son of James and Agnes Renton of Railway Cottages, Crumstane, Edrom, Duns and is buried in Duns Cemetery. He was a tailor to trade but when he enlisted in November 1915 he was an insurance agent with the Prudential. Whilst in training he became ill with tuberculosis and was discharged from the army on 21st August 1916.
