Gunner Andrew Ford

Gunner Andrew William Ford, 265 Battery, 59 Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery. he died on Active Service in Hospital, aged 35, on the 30th June 1941. He had been born in Coldstream, Berwickshire in 1906 and was the son of Andrew and Jane Ford of Braeside, Cannongate, Denholm. Before enlisting in December 1940 he had been employed by Messrs J. & R. Elliot of Hawick. He died in a Military Hospital in Stannington, Northumberland after a shooting accident whilst he had been on guard duty and he is buried in Cavers Cemetery, Denholm.
