Private Adam Hay

Private Adam Hay, 4th ( Reserve ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died on Service from pneumonia in Ceres Hospital, Cupar on 7th July 1918  aged 22 and is buried in Cupar New Cemetery, Cupar, Fife. He had been born at Maxton, Roxburgshire and was the son of Elizabeth and the late Adam Hay of Baittens farm, Crailing and then Upper Ulston, Jedburgh. His Headstone is inscribed ” He Died That We Might Live”. At the time the Battalion were part of the Forth Garrison based in Fife.
