Gunner William Joseph Paterson, 62nd Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery. He was killed in Tunisia, aged 34, on the 19th August 1943. He had been born in Cromarty, Ross and Cromarty and was the son of George and Margaret Paterson of Ferryhill, Aberdeen. He was married to Anne Paterson of Cove, Cockburnspath whom he had married in Edinburgh in 1942. His father had leased the salmon fishings on the coast around Cockburnspath and he was the manager at Cove. He was originally a member of the London Scottish before one of their Battalions had been formed into an anti aircraft Unit. He served with them before transferring to the 62nd. He is buried in Massicault War Cemetery, Tunisia.
