Captain John Edward Elliot, Royal Army Medical Corps. He was based at the 10th Stationary Hospital and was killed in an air raid in France on 23rd May 1918, aged 37. He was the son of John Elliot of Binks, Roxburghshire and the husband of Dorothy Alin Elliot of ” Osmington “, Canada Grove, Bognor, Sussex. He is buried in Longuenesse ( St Omer ) Souvenir Cemetery, St Omer, Pas de Calais, France. He had been educated in Edinburgh at George Watsons College and then Edinburgh University where he studied medicine and graduated M.B., Ch.B. in 1904. The joined the R.A.M.C. and was promoted Captain in July 1910 He was mentioned in despatches in January 1916.
