Private William Heslop, 11th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Scots. He was killed in France on 15th March 1917 and is buried in Fauberg D’Amiens Cemetery, Arras, France. He was the son of Rachel and the late Thomas Heslop of the ” Thatch ” public house, Tweedmouth and had been a rural postman before enlisting. He had previously been wounded during the Battle of the Somme in August 1916. His brother Thomas also died ( see above ).
