Corporal Robert Pearson, 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in Belgium on 1st November 1914, aged 23 during the First Battle of Ypres. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Elias Pearson of 30 Foul Ford, Berwick and is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, Richebourg, Pas de Calais, France. He was a Regular soldier and fell in the fighting around Messines in the attempts to hold back the last great German attempts to break through the British lines in 1914. 3 Officers and 139 Other Ranks became casualties.
