Flying Officer James Tait

Flying Officer James Maxwell Tait, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was killed in a flying accident with 7 Operational Training Unit on 13th July 1943, aged 23. He was the son of James and Margaret Johnston of Berwick and is buried in Berwick-upon-Tweed Cemetery. The Vickers Wellingon he was a crew member of flew into high ground in cloud near Limvady, Co. Londonderry, Northern Ireland. His Headstone is inscribed ” The Day Is Done And The Darkness Falls From The Wings Of Night”.
