Leading Aircraftman James Burgon

Leading Aircraftman James Burgon, 922 Squadron, Royal Air Force. He died in Belgium on 10th December 1944, aged 28 and is buried in Schoonselhof Cemetery, Antwerp, Belgium. He was the son of William and Isabella Burgon and the husband of Jean Burgon of Tweedmouth. His Headstone is inscribed ” Time May Pass And Fade Away But Memories Of You Will Always Stay”. 922 Squadron was a Barrage Balloon Unit responsible for flying and maintaining the Balloons for defensive purposes.
