Sergeant James W. McMechan, 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died of wounds in Germany on 15th September 1914 whilst a Prisoner of War of the Germans and is buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery. He was a regular soldier who had enlisted in Glasgow and would have spent time serving abroad before the outbreak of War. From 1910 till the outbreak of War the Battalion had been stationed in Dublin, Ireland. They landed in France on the 15th August.
