Private George Crawford, 11th ( Service ) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in action in Italy on 27th October 1918, aged 24. He was the son of Elizabeth Crawford of 25 Ravensdowne, Berwick and is buried in Tezze British Cemetery nr. Treviso, Italy. He fell during the assault crossing of the River Piave and the subsequent fighting which forced the Austrian defenders into retreat until they sued for an Armistice on 4th November 1918.
