Rifleman E. Ridley, 8th ( Service ) Battalion, Rifle Brigade. He died in France on 14th August 1916 of wounds received in action during the Battle of the Somme and is buried in Quarry Cemetery, Montauban, Somme, France. The photographs show troops on the Somme with the colour image showing a peaceful Somme landscape today.
