Gunner James Nairn

Gunner James Nairn, 3rd Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery. He was killed in action in Italy on 31st August 1944, aged 26. He was the son of Robert and Margaret Jane Nairn of Belford and is buried in Montecchio War Cemetery, Italy where his Headstone is inscribed ” Too Dearly Loved To be Forgotten; Always In our Thoughts. Mum, Dad, Brother And Sisters”. The Medium Regiments used the towed 5.5 inch medium artillery piece as pictured below being used in action in Italy
