Deck Hand John Lauder, Royal Naval Reserve. He died at Gillingham Hospital, Chatham on 5th May 1919, aged 19. He was the son of Susan and the late Alexander Lauder of Ayton and is buried in Ayton Kirkyard. He had served aboard H.M.S. Ganges 11 which was the old ironclad H.M.S.” Minotaur “now being used during the War as a trawler base at Shotley in Suffolk.
