Sergeant Alfred Middlemiss, 9th ( Service ) Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment ( Prince of Wales’s Own ). He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 9th August 1915 and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Helles, Gallipioli, Turkey. He fell in the fighting in the Lala Baba sector near ” Scimitar Hill “after the landings at Suvla Bay. The photos show troops at Suvla.
