Private Berte Nisbet

Private Berte Russell Nisbet, 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He fell in action in Burma on 19th July 1944, aged 21. He was the son of James and Elizabeth Nisbet of Twizel, Norham, Northumberland and is buried in Imphal War Cemetery, Imphal, India. The Japanese had been defeated at the Battles of Imphal and Kohima and 2nd K.O.S.B. were amongst the forces pursuing the beaten enemy back into Burma.
