In loving memory of JOHN SIMPSON who died in Swinton 12th January 1914 aged 56 years.

Also PETER his son Pte 13th Royal Scots died of wounds in Stettin Germany 15th July 1918 aged 30 years.

ELIZABETH ROSS wife of the above JOHN SIMPSON who died 7th august 1945 aged 83 years.

Also JAMES their son who died 19th February 1952 aged 52 years.

Military record

Private Peter Simpson, 13th Battalion, Royal Scots. He died whilst a Prisoner of War in Germany on 15th July 1918, aged 30. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Simpson and is buried in Berlin South West Cemetery. Before enlisting he had been employed as a gamekeeper by Ladykirk Estates.
