Erected by George and Margaret Davidson, Thornton School, in memory of John Ebeneezer their son who died at Tweedmouth November 11th AD 1833 aged 3 years.

Also William their son who died at Thornton May 12th AD 1838 aged 7 days.

Also George their son who died at Ayton June 1st AD 1859 aged 23 years.
 

Margaret wife of George Davidson, Schoolmaster, Thornton who died !-lay 20th AD 1872 aged 71 years,

Also the above George Davidson, Schoolmaster, Thornton who died April 9th AD 1876 aged 70 years.

Also Ebeneezer their son died at Edinburgh March 19th AD 1874 aged 39 years.

Also Andrew their son who died at Berwick September 29th AD 1874 ae;ed 42 years.

Also John their son who died at Pensford, Nr. Bristol October 1st AD 1901 aged 59 years.

Also Margaret Home their daughter who died at Thornton School October 15th AD 1901 aged 57 years.

Also Jane White their daughter who died at Thornton School October 18th AD 1902 aged 62 years
