Erected by ALEXANDER and ESTHER SHIELS in memory of their two sons who died at Grindon Ridge May 9th 1880, GEORGE aged 2 years and ADAM aged 8 months.

'They were lovely and pleasant in their lives and in death they were not divided.

Also the above ALEXANDER SHIELS who died at Pawston 10th Hay 1915 aged 67 years.

Also the above ESTHER J. I. SHIELS died at Berryhill 15th November 1928 aged 83 years.
