Sacred to the memory of WILLIAM TURNBULL who departed this life June 3rd 1875 aged 75 years.

Sacred to the memory of ELIZABETH ALLAN who departed this life January 28th 1877 aged 21 months,

Also ISOBELL ALLAN who departed this life January 28th 1877 aged 4 years.

'Jesus loves me and sister too'

Also WILILLIAM ALLAN father of the above aged 46 years and his son JAMES ALLAN aged15 years who were both drowned in the Tweed 31st August 1892.

Also JANET ALLAN wife of the above who died at Norham 27th September 1915 aged 77 years.

AGNES MAY ALLAN died at Monkseaton 31st August 1941 aged 70 years.

This stone is erected by
MAY ALLAN in memory of her beloved sister ISOBEL who departed this life on February 25th aged 73 years.

Also the above MAY ALLAN who died September 2nd 1883 aged 70 years.

'Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord'.

JANE THOMPSON daughter of WILLIAM and JANET ALLAN died at Benton 27th September 1945 aged 78 years.

Commentary

Wiliiam and James Allan who were drowned in the Tweed trying to unlodge a tree that was stuck in the middle of the river at Canny fishery. They along with another lad were all dfrowned. The river was in spate.
