Erected in memory of JAMES GRAY feuar Lennel New Town who died 2 November 1853 aged 67 years.

Also AGNES THOMSON his wife who died 25 May 1812 aged 44 years.

Also MARGERY THOMSON his wife who died 6 February 1848 aged 70 years.

Also ALEXANDER GRAY son of the above who died 25 February 1889 aged 72 years,


Alexander Gray, a Cotton H L W, lived in New Coldstream with his mother Marjory Gray and ten year old Jane Gray in 1841.  Sixty year old Marjory was a Meal Dealer. In 1881 Alexander Gray was living with his wife Mary (52) at 26 Newtown.  His occupation was a Shoemaker.  Sons James (16) and Alexander (7) and also daughter Mary (10) are living at home.  See also Alexander Gray above.
