In Loving Memory of ROBERT BROWN who died 14 January 1924 aged 76 years. Also HELEN SCOTT dearly beloved wife of ROBERT BROWN who died March 12 1924 aged 77 years. Also WILLIAM SCOTT BROWN dearly beloved youngest son of the above who died October 18 1928 aged 46 years. After the going down of the sun in the evening, we shall remember them.

Commentary

Robert Brown was born at Coldstream and lived at 22 Duke Street, his occupation a  Dairyman. In the 1871 census Robert is described as a Currier living at 17 Duke Street with his parents Peter Brown Senior and Julia his mother. His father Peter was born at Coldstream. Peter and his wife Julia had 7 children: Peter, Jane, George, Helen, Robert, and John (though this only counts to six). Julia was born in Edrom in 1808 and died in 1888.

In the 1901 census, William Scott was a PO Mail Driver.
