In affectionate memory of Minto M. STAWART beloved daughter of Thomas H. & Elizabeth STAWART who died at Kilham Nov. 25th 1908 aged 23 years.

Also of the above named Elizabeth STAWART dearly beloved wife of Thomas H. STAWART who died at Kilham. May 21st 1910 aged 49 years.

Also of James STAWART youngest son of the above Thomas H. & Elizabeth STAWART  who was  killed  in action on The  Somme  in France.  Sep  15th  1916 aged 21 years.

  Also  of the above Thomas H. STAWART who died at Howtel Mar  10th 1925 aged 65 years.

Military record

Corporal James Stawart, "C" Coy. 21st Battalion, Kings Royal Rifle Corps. He was killed in action in France on 17th July 1916 during the Battle of the Somme, aged 21. He was the son of the late Thomas Stawart of Howtel, Mindrum, Cornhill-on-Tweed and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Thiepval, Somme, France.
