In  lovng  memory  of Thomas  PALMER  beloved  son  of  John  and  Agnes  PALMER.  Langham  Toll. who  died  23rd  March 1901  aged  4  years.

 And  of  John  0.  PALMER  their  son  who  died  al  the Dardanelles  26th November   1915 aged 21 yearss. 

Also  of Agnes ORMISTON  wife of John  PALMER who died 8th April  1919 aged 6 l years.

Military record

Able Seaman John Ormiston Palmer, Hawke Battalion, Royal Naval Division. He died at Gallipoli on 26th Novemver 1915, aged 21 and was buried at sea. He was the son of John and Agnes Palmer of South Doddington, Wooler and is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial, Chatham, Kent. He had been born at Langham Toll, Mindrum, Northumberland. The Division was comprised mostly of those members of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who were surplus to requirement in the Fleet and were formed into battalions named after famous British seamen.
