Erected by John YOUNG in memory of his father James YOUNG who died at Akeld. July 18th 1850 aged 77 years, also Jane his wife who died at Akeld 20th August  1852 aged  79 years.  The above John YOUNG died at Milfield 17th January 1875. aged 81 years. Also Isabella his wife  died at Milfield 13th February 1859 aged 61 years. Also James YOUNG their son who died at Milfield 14th December 1899 aged 80 years. Also Mary YOUNG. their daughter who died at Milfield 24th December 1907 aged 80 years.
