Erected by MARGARET FRASER in loving memory of her uncle JAMES DIPPIE who died in Coldstream 3rd Aug 1875 aged 74 years.

Commentary

James Dippie who lived in the 16 Market Place Coldstream was a Tallow Chandler emplying 1 boy.  Also living in the same house was two sisters Janet and Margaret.

In the 1961 census James and his sisters were all the same age (strang)
