(OBELISK). (East side). This stone is erected in memory in ISABELLA wife of JAMES PRINGLE who died at Carham Hall Lodge on September 23rd 1860 in the 74th year of her age. The above named JAMES PRINGLE who died on June 24th 1865 in the 73rd year of his age. C. J. ALLAN M. D. grandson of the above who died at Roxburgh New Zealand on February 6th 1880 in the 41th year of his age.
(North side): ISABELLA wife of WILLIAM NESBIT and daughter of JAMES and ISABELLA PRINGLE died at Norham on May 18th 1886 in the 69th yeare of her age. In loving memory of my beloved husband WILLIAM NESBIT who died at Norham on Jany 10th 1890 aged 74 years. "Asleep in Jesus".
Commentary
Roxburgh is a small New Zealand town of about 600 people in Central Otago. It is in Teviot Valley on the banks of the Clutha River, 40 km south of Alexandra in the South Island.
