This tablet was erected by the Rev. WILLIAM COMPTON LUNDIE of Spital Berwickshire in grateful & affectionate remembrance of his father the Revd. WILLIAM COMPTON LUNDIE M.A. for many years Vicar of this parish and Rector of St Olave in the city of Exeter who died on the 18th day of June 1843 aged 74years.

And of his mother MARY COMPTON LUNDIE who died on the 17th day of October 1838 aged 61 years.

Their remains are interred in a vault in this church.  Almighty and everliving God, we bless thy Holy Name for all thy servants departed this life in thy earth and fear beseaching thee to give us grace so to follow their good examples that with them we may be partakers of thy Heavenly Kingdom.
