Erected by CHARLES KERSE in loving memory of HELEN STENHOUSE his wife who died at Eccles 6th August 1902 aged 49 years. And of WILLIAM his son who died 14th January 1881  aged 3 years 4 months and was interred in the Sutherland (sic) Necropolis. And of CHARLES his son Lance/Cpl. A.V.C. who died in France 18th March 1915  aged 24 years and was interred at Baileul Cemetery. Also the above CHARLES KERSE who died at Birgham 14th January 1925 aged 75 years.

Military record

Lance Corporal Charles Kerse, Army Veterinary Corps, 58th Division. He died of wounds on 18th March 1915 and is buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery, France.
