Private James Scott, 4th Battalion Canadian Infantry ( 1st Central Ontarion Regiment ). He was killed in action in France on 8th September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme, aged 19. He was the son of James and Margaret Scott of Laurel Cottage, Birgham and is buried in Sunken Road Cemetery, Contalmaison, Somme, France. For some reason Private Scott is not listed on the War Memorial but as his parents were still living in Birgham we felt that he should be included.
