Field Trip to Ford Moss and Rowtin Linn – Thursday 19th July 2012

Twenty society members visited Ford Moss and Rowtin Linn on the evening of 19th July 2012 and were greeted by Dr. Chris Burgess, the County's Archaeologist. He showed the society members the old coal, lime and quarry workings on the Ford and Etal Estate and then took the group to Rowtin Linn to see Bronze Age markings on rock formations in the woods. This was a very enlightening field trip, with Chris being so knowledgeable about these matters. Thanks Chris, we owe you a pint.
