Private William Anderson

Private William Dean Anderson, 1st/4th (Border) Battalion. He died in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, aged 27, on the 13th June 1924. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Robert and Margaret Anderson of Hall Street, Galashiels and the husband of Adeline Anderson of 39 Halliburton Place, Galashiels. He had been a member of the Territorial K.O.S.B. and was mobilised with the Battalion in August 1914 going to Gallipoli as part of the 52nd(Lowland) Division in June 1915. He later saw action in Egypt, Palestine and France and was demobilised in March 1919. He became a power loom tuner when he suffered a perforated ulcer and died in Edinburgh. His burial place is unknown at present.
