Mr R. Dunn, Beanley

The village church at Eglingham was crowded with mourners at the funeral of Mr Robert Dunn of Beanley on Sunday afternoon. For over 70 years he had lived at Beanley and he was one of the best know figures in the district.

He was awarded the certificate and bronze medal of the Royal Agricultural Society in 1935 for 58 years continuous service.

The high esteem in which he was held was evidenced by the large number of people at the service at which Canon Ainger, Vicar of Eglingham officiated.

The chief mourners were L Miss Annetta Dunn (daughter); Messers Joseph, William, Robert and Sam Dunn (sons), Mrs W. Dunn, Mrs J Dunn ( daughters in law), Mr & Mrs R. Thompson, Mr & Mrs J Fulton (sons in law and daughters), Mrs S Dunn (sister in law), Mrs Burn, Mrs Wakenshaw (nieces), Mr & Mrs A Chapman, Mr & Mrs G Hutchinson, Mr & Mrs W Dunn (nephews and nieces) and Mr R Dunn ( grandson)

A large number of beautiful wreaths were sent, including one from Capt.  And Mrs J.C. Carr-Ellison of Hedgeley Hall who were represented by Mr Graham.
