Here rest until the resurrection the mortal remains of JOHN CARR who died at East Braes, Coldstream on 26th day Aug. 1856 aged 48 years.
“Though I pass through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for thou art with me” PS xxiii   

Erected by his widow, his brothers, and his sister, sorrowing. The departed was the second son of the late JOHN CARR Esq. of Dunston Hill, Co. Durham & Hedgeley, Northumberland.
