Old Churchyard – Row 6 – South – Black

Erected by GEORGE BLACK in memory of his beloved wife CATHERINE BLACK  who died at Mardon Inch 21st September 1880 aged 31 years. Also CATHERINE MARY their daughter died 31st Jan 1880 aged 17 months. They are not dead but sleeping.

I H S GEORGE CHRISTOPHER HUGH ASKEW born 10th February 1858 departed 15th February 1862. Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Sacred to the memory of ISABELLA ANDRINA daughter of JAMES and MARY ANN MATTHEWSON East Moneylaws Born 30th Oct 1869 died 23 Dec 1869. Also the above JAMES MATTHEWSON born 25th March 1864 at Berwick on Tweed died 23rd July 1917. Also of MARY ANN HALLIBURTON wife of the above who died at Berwick on Tweed 16th Nov 1923 aged 87 years.  Also MARY ANNE MATTHEWSON Dearest daughter of the above Born 1st Dec 1860 died 18th Jan 1944.

I H S Sacred to the memory of  WATSON ASKEW ROBERTSON of Pallinsburn and Ladykirk born August 6th 1834 died November 20th 1906. Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord. From henceforth Yea Saith the Spirit that they may rest from their labours and their works do follow them.

In loving memory of GEORGE YOUNG who died at Blue Bell Inn 25th Aug 1913 aged 63 years. Also of JANE beloved wife of the above who died at Blue Bell Inn 2nd Jan 1916 aged 65 years.

In loving memory of MARY ANN beloved wife of JOHN HARDY who died at Branxton 26th January 1897 aged 67 years. Also of JOHN their son died 19th January 1863 aged 4 years. Also of the Above JOHN HARDY who died at Branxton 26th October 1913 in his 84th year.
