Corporal Robert McLaughlin

Corporal Robert McLaughlin, 21st ( Service ) Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment ( Prince of Wales Own ). He was killed in France in the Arras sector on 23rd July 1917 aged 25. He was the son of Edward and Maria McLaughlin of Shining Pool, Wooler and is buried in Level Crossing Cemetery, Fampoux, Arras, France. ( The Memorial has his unit as the Northumberland Fusiliers so it is likely that he was transferred from them to the West Yorks. ). His Headstone is inscribed ” R.I.P.”.
