Private James Redpath

Private James Davidson Redpath, 1st/5th ( Territorial ) Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. He was killed in action in Belgium on 12th April 1918 during the German Spring Offensive on the River Lys and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Flanders, Belgium. He had been born at Doddington and had lived at High Humbleton, Wooler. The photos show Allied troops in rather makeshift defensive positions.
