Private George Lee

Private George Lee, 15th ( Service ) Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. He was killed in action in France on 10th April 1917 on the second day of the Battle of Arras. He was the son of Mrs and the late George Lee of Cheviot Street, Wooler and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Arras, France. He had spent eleven years in Canada before returning home to work in Munitions In Woolwich, London before enlisting in the D.L.I. in November 1916. The photos show troops during the Battle.
