Craftsman Joseph Lowrie

,Craftsman Joseph Lowrie, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He died of wounds in Italy on 20th July 1944, aged 39. He had been born in Mordington and was the son of Andrew and Mary Lowrie and the husband of Agnes Lowrie of paxton, Berwick upon Tweed and is buried in Assissi War Cemetery, Italy. ( He was the father of Neil and Drew Lowrie of Paxton ) His name is also on the Paxton War Memorial, Berwickshire and on the Jedburgh War Memorial. Before enlistin he had been employed as Chaffeur to Colonel Home at Bassendean House, Westruther. Further details can be found on the Paxton Memorial site.
