Acting Bombardier Robert McDougall

Acting Bombardier Robert McDougall, 54th Battery, 39th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. He was killed in France on 10th September 1915, aged 27. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Jane McDougall of Berwick-upon-Tweed and is buried in Bully-Grenay Communal Cemetery, French Extension, Pas de Calais, France. The Field Artillery used the 18 pounder gun in an anti infantry role using both high explosive and shrapnel shells one of which is pictured
