Private George Young, 3rd Battalion, Coldstream Guards. He died in Belgium on 30th August 1917, aged 23, of wounds received in action during the Battle of Third Ypres. He was the husband of Rose Young of Foundry Cottages, West End, Tweedmouth and is buried in Bleuet Farm Cemetery. Elverdinge, Flanders, Belgium. His Headstone is inscribed ” To Memory Ever Dear”. The photos show troops during the early stages of the Battle.
