Cadet John Robson

Cadet John Robson, Royal Air Force. He died in Canada in a flying accident at Camp Mohawk on 3rd July 1918, aged 21 and is buried in Deseronto Cemetery, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Walter and Isabella Robson of Lairhope, Teviothead, Hawick. There are six Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force graves in this cemetery placed around a central Memorial. he had emigrated to Canada in 1913 to work in a bank in Winnipeg, Manitoba and then had served with the Royal North West Mounted Police before enlisting in January 1918. ( It was April 1918 that the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service merged to become the Royal Air Force ).
