Private Henry Cowe

Private Henry Cowe, Mechanical Transport, Army Service Corps. He died on Active service of pneumonia in the 22nd Casualty Clearing Station in France on 30th June 1918, aged, 24. He had been born in Melrose and was the son of William and Euphemia Cowe of Muirhouse, Stow and is buried in Pernes British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He had been employed as a gardener before enlisting as a Police Constable in Whitley Bay, Northumberland. In July 1915 he enlisted in the Army
