Private Robert Wright, 1st Battalion, Cameron Highlanders. He died in France, aged 20, on 13th January 1916 from wounds received in action and is buried in Dud Corner Cemetery, Loos, France. He was the son of John and Jessie Wright of Backdamgate, Hawick and Fleety Cottage, Stobs. He had been a farm servant at Langburnshiels, Hawick before enlisting in the 2nd Battalion, Camerons in May 1915. In France he was transferred to the 1st Battalion in October 1915.
