Private Henry Elliott

Private Henry Elliott, 7th/8th Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died in France on 27th February 1917, aged 36, from wounds received in action. He had been born in Oxnam and was the son of Mrs Elliott of Bedrule and the husband of Catherine Elliott of Scraesburgh, Jedburgh and is buried in Habarcq Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France. Before enlisting he had been the farm steward at Flex. His Headstone is inscribed ” In Remembrance From Wife & Children”. He had originally enlisted in the 2nd/4th K.O.S.B. and was posted to the 2nd K.O.S.B. before being transferred to the 7th/8th Battalion.
