Private Robert Tait

Private Robert Tait, 3rd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died in the 2nd Scottish General Military Hospital, Craigleith, Edinburgh from Bright’s Disease on 1st June 1916, aged 35. He had been born in St. Boswells and was the son of the late Robert and Janet Blake Tait of Paton’s Buildings, St Boswells and is buried in St Boswells Parish Churchyard. Before enlisting he had been employed as a carting contractor before enlisting in St. Boswells.
